Fall Swirls with Scented Polish

I really love Fall. The sweaters, boots, scarves, hot cocoa, pumpkin everything, and changing leaves. What I may love more than fall, however, is nail polish. Surprise! Well, how about the combination of both things? Can you say: Mind overload? haha

For this week, I did a fairly simplistic yet classy design that uses warm fall colors (bronze, gold, and deep chocolate). This design takes some patience, but you are done in two coats, which if you’ve seen some of the other designs, you would know two coats is nothing.

I first painted a base coat followed by a deep chocolate brown. I let that dry completely before proceeding to the next coat. I grabbed some toothpicks, or a very small dotting tool if you have that instead. I then painted a fairly thick second coat of the dark brown on a single nail at a time. Once the dark brown coat was added, I got my other two colors: bronze and gold and using the brush supplied by the bottle, I dotted each color every other dot in a swirl design. Immediately after finishing, I took my toothpick and lightly drew a swirl through the middle of all of the dots allowing for all the colors to mix and the gold and bronze accents to show a well-defined swirl shape embedded in the brown.

One of the best parts of this nail art, is not only that it is simple yet classy, the deep chocolate color smells like real chocolate! Revlon started a line this past summer (that’s at least when I saw them in CVSs) that had scented nail polish. I have a green mint, autumn spice (bronze shimmer), chocolate, and a melon orange. Some of the colors smelled more like fragrance than food stuffs, but the whole idea of having really yummy scented nail polish is such a treat. Moreover, he holidays are terrible for everyone’s diet so why not instead of eating chocolate all the time, just sniff your nails?! Sounds weird, but maybe it would help cravings. haha

I hope you all like this simple yet lovely design. The idea of melting multiple colors into each other while the nail polish is still wet, is not a new concept, but it sure is a fun one!
